About EIV News

EIV News is a student news organization, operated by Emerson Independent Video, and based in Boston, MA at Emerson College.  Comprised entirely of Emerson students, EIV News provides an opportunity for Emerson students to gain hands-on experience in broadcast journalism and television production both in the field and in the studio. The news team runs many of the same day-to-day operations of any local news station.
EIV News produces several unique newscasts, each with an emphasis on different area of news coverage.  EIV News @ 9:00 focuses on local and regional news, while EIV News @ 6:00 features national and world news.  Each contain weather and sports segments, and feature reports from EIV’s team of student reporters. EIV News Live Update provides breaking news, as well as continuing coverage of the week’s top news stories, both locally and nationally.

We strive to give students the passion, leadership, and courage they will need for successful careers after graduation. While priding ourselves with professionalism and outstanding quality of content, we understand that the primary focus of EIV News is producing an environment that promotes learning and provides opportunities to gain valuable experience.
